Dezhgan Beton Fanavar Develops Eco-Friendly, Smart, Ultra-Lightweight Concrete Using Nano and Biotechnology

Hormozgan, Iran – Dezhgan Beton Fanavar, a company based at the Hormozgan Science and Technology Park, has successfully developed an environmentally friendly, smart concrete by integrating nanotechnology and biotechnology.

According to the Public and International Relations Office of the Hormozgan Science and Technology Park, Dezhgan Beton Fanavar announced the commercialization of a new generation of biotechnological, ultra-lightweight cellular concrete with greenhouse gas absorption and photocatalytic capabilities in the Hormozgan province. This achievement, a synthesis of biotechnology, nanotechnology, and computational chemistry (DFT), is poised to revolutionize the sustainable building and material economics sectors in the country.

Ms. Ebrahimi, CEO of Dezhgan Beton Fanavar, stated, “At Dezhgan Beton Fanavar, we have not merely improved upon concrete; we have redefined its very essence to advance the lightweight concrete industry on a national level. Our new product is not only lighter and more durable with unique thermal insulation properties compared to conventional concretes, but it also plays an active role in environmental sustainability through its photocatalytic properties and its ability to absorb and reduce greenhouse gases.”

The technology is based on international research presented and published at the prestigious ICOLD-CIGB 2025 conference in China. According to Ms. Ebrahimi, the company’s specialists have successfully redesigned and localized the optimal mix design for this concrete in Iran, based on the German parent technology (USLPore). This new formulation, also known by the brand name DEZHAX, elevates the performance of concrete in environmental sustainability, structural efficiency, and energy productivity to an unparalleled level.

The CEO added, “This technology has now reached the commercialization stage in Hormozgan province and is ready to attract investment for industrial-scale production. This product can bring about a true transformation in the economics of materials and environmental sustainability for modular construction, dam building, urban structures, and low-carbon projects.”
